Castle Neuschwanstein
built by King Ludwig II of Bavaria from 1869-1886 in place of the ruin „Vorder- und Hinterschwangau“. Opening hours: 1.10.-31.3. from 10 am to 4 pm, 1.4.-30.9. from 9 am to 6 pm. Castle Hohenschwangau
built in the 12th-century by the “Lords of Schwangau” as Burg Schwanstein. From 1832-1836 crown prince Maximilian II of Bavaria (1848-1864 King Max II, father of King Ludwig II) rebuilt the castle in a neo-Gothic style. Opening hours: 1.10.-31.3. from 10 am to 4 pm, 1.4.-30.9. from 9 am to 6 pm. Closed December 24. Roman Villa
(roman excavation, 200 a.Chr.) discovered during the construction of the Tegelberg mountain cable car in 1966. Open for visits daily from 9 am to 5 pm, guided tours on request at the Tourist Information, Phone: +49-8362-8198-32

1.Pfarrkirche Waltenhofen, found by the so called Apostle of the Allgäu, St. Mang in 746. Rebuilt from 1989-1993.
2.Pilgrim-Church St. Coloman. Built from 1673-1678 by the Wessobrunner’ Master builder

3.Church St. Georg in Schwangau. Stems from the 13th century but burned down partly in 1754 after it was hit by a lightning strike. Rebuilt by the touching engagement of the population and renovated in 1995/1996.
4.Chapel "Maria am Weg", constructed in 2008 by Markus Fischer.
